Recommendations for under eye cream to prevent wrinkles.?

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

I’m 25 years old and looking for a good eye cream to prevent wrinkles. There’s so many brands out there I’m really confused as to what to go for. I was thinking of using Clinique..but would love to read other suggestions.

Secret: there is no magic formula to prevent you from having wrinkles. The skin under/around the eye is the thinnest, and most sensitive, and everyday pollution, stress, bad nutrition, climate change, etc is hardly going to keep it in perfect shape. The only way to POSTPONE wrinkles:
1. good genetic background
2. any eye cream ( I use STRI VECTIN eye cream $63, after i have tried many, this one provides the maximum moisture) + lots of SPF!!!, and not too much sun exposure!!!
3. enough sleep!!! reduce stress!!!
4. antioxidants, meaning lots of fruits and veggies, and NO JUNK!

How to get rid of bags and dark circles under eyes?

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Ok i’m in 7th grade i have bags under my eyes and dark circles what is the easiest and cheapest way to get rid of them. (i have had them for my whole life)

to get rid of dark circles:

1. lack of sleep is usually the main cause but seen as this is not the case for you it’s also believed that too little time lying down is a cause in itself. determine how much sleep you need (it’s usually 7-9 hours per night, but varies throughout different people) and try to get that amount regularly for a couple of weeks to see if that helps. remember that alcohol and drugs can adversely affect the quality of your sleep; abstain from these products or use only in moderation for best results.

2. establish whether or not this condition runs in your family. dark circles are believed to frequently be hereditary. this doesn’t mean that you can’t do anything about the conditions, but you should be prepared for minimal success actually trying to get rid of them. dark circles under the eye may also, in fact, be light carbon deposits that result from incomplete protein digestion. incomplete protein digestion may result from insufficient hydrochloric acid in your stomach that may be caused from a lack of primarily b6 and folic acid. about 30% of the population does not absorb regular b6 (pydroxine) or folic acid and need to take in these vitamins in a different form or another way.

3. identify allergens. allergies may be the most common cause of skin discoloration under the eyes. if allergies are the root of your problem, you simply need to treat them or remove the allergen (the thing to which you are allergic). seasonal allergy problems such as the hay fever can frequently be effectively treated with over-the-counter and prescription medications. for other allergies the best course of action is usually avoidance. if your dark circles or puffiness are constant, you may have an undetected food allergy or an allergy to a chemical in your home or workplace. talk to a dermatologist for help determining what you may be allergic to. people with allergies also tend again to be deficient in b6, folic acid. taking a multivitamin, if you don’t already, may help with your allergies as well as black circles.

4. treat your skin while you sleep. there are overnight facial masques available that may help reduce the appearance of puffiness or discoloration, but you can also make your own. just before you go to bed, take a washcloth and wet it just a bit with cold water. then squeeze out any excess water and place it over your eyes as you sleep.

5. apply cool tea bags, an ice cube wrapped in soft cloth, or cucumber slices to your eyes daily. the tannin in tea bags has been shown to reduce swelling and discoloration, and cucumber slices have long been used to reduce puffiness and refresh the appearance of skin around the eyes. lie down, preferably in the morning, and leave fresh cucumber slices or cool, damp caffeinated tea bags (you can refrigerate them overnight so they’ll be ready) over your eyes for about 10-15 minutes. keep your eyes closed.

6. try to relax the space. you can do this by wetting a cotton swab and then freezing it for a little while. then you should gently wipe under your eyes in the areas where the circles are occurring. when wiping, close your eyes and try not to flinch.

7. apply an eye cream containing vitamin k and retinol. research has shown that skin creams containing these two ingredients reduce puffiness and discoloration significantly in many patients. long-term daily use seems to have the greatest effect.

8. avoid rubbing your eyes. usually rubbing of the eyes is brought on by allergies, but not always. regardless of the reason, stop doing it. the rubbing irritates the skin and can break tiny capillaries beneath the skin, causing both puffiness and discoloration.

9. eat a healthy, balanced diet and drink plenty of water. a whole host of cosmetic problems can be attributed to vitamin deficiencies. be sure to get plenty of fruits and vegetables—especially cabbage, spinach, and other leafy green vegetables. get adequate fluids to improve circulation.

10. reduce salt intake. excess salt causes the body to retain water in unusual places, and this can result in puffiness under the eyes. too much salt can also impair your circulation, and cause the blood vessels under the skin to appear bluer.

11. if you smoke- then quit. smoking causes vascular (blood vessel) problems that can not only threaten your life, but also make your blood vessels appear more prominent and bluer beneath the skin.

12. if this doesnt work try covering the problem up with cosmetics. use a yellow or flesh-toned colour which will camouflage the problem under your eyes. mac do the best ones for covering up dark circles although they are a bit expensive. if you are on a budget i would definately reccomend rimmel. good luck

hope this helps

As well, private clients have raved about the results.

These products are exceptional! There are no other products like these on the market. They contain the best ingredients found in the formulation of the international top selling serums and creams used to treat dark circles, under-eye puffiness, skin discoloration and fine lines and wrinkles.

The Instant Eye-Tuck & Dark Circle Treatment will firm the under-eye in minutes and lasts all day. Over a period of time under-eye puffiness is reduced dramatically, even without using the serum on a daily basis. It treats skin discolouration, fine lines and of course dark circles.

How do you get rid of under eye wrinkles?

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

In 3 weeks any homemade recipes no products please!or any oils or something that isn’t made for this reason

I’m happy to say this has been very effective for me and others on Answers.
Under eye wrinkles: With tips of first three fingers held close together and applying slight pressure do a one way massage from nose to just past outer eye. Use just sufficient oil. I found sweet almond, grape seed and a light olive oil excellent. Do both eyes together. Do 6 to 8 times the first day and gradually increase daily as skin adjusts. Remove oil immediately with tissues dampened with water. You will find in a day or two you can do more and do faster, For quickest results increase to about 15 to 20 times. Initially, it might make under eye a little puffy for a while but it goes away. It will go away faster if you do the "Lion face pose"
Find on YouTube – yoga face exercises

.
Here is a testimonial from a happy Answers user " big papy":(Go to her profile for other complimentary answers to the same wrinkle cure questions I answered):
"Listen to Mukunda his wrinkle treatment is a miracle. i have tryed it and it works trust me u have nothing tooo lose!!! i love it its helped me greatly and it will do the same to u!!!"

This facial treatment also greatly helps get rid of under eye lines and circles .

Preventing PuffyDark Eyes:

Stay hydrated!!! If you are thirsty, you are dehydrated. When properly hydrated, your urine will be nearly clear. (Note that some drugs and foods can alter the color of your urine.)

Lower your salt intake. The body can only store salt in fluid suspension – which will gather in the skin around your eyes. (Bonus: Lowering your salt consumption can improve your overall health.)

Never sleep wearing eye make-up. Regardless of how tired you may be, always use an eye make-up remover and continue until the cotton ball or pad shows no signs of make-up. Use a cotton pad rather than a tissue because it is less irritating. Removing eye make-up will prevent it from entering the eyelid and causing irritation.

Beware of bacteria. Speaking of eye make-up…Do not use mascara or any other eye product that is older than a few months. Bacteria that have grown in the make-up would love a new home in your eyes, and will cause your eyelids to swell. On this note it is probably a good idea not to share your eye products with anyone else either.

Be sure you get enough quality, regular sleep.

Sleep with your head elevated to allow better circulation and prevent fluid from collecting around your eyes.

Sleep on your back so that gravity does not route fluid directly to your eyes.

Getting Rid of Puffy/Dark Eyes:

Dip cotton balls in ice cold cucumber or potato juice and let rest on eyes for 10-15 min

Wear a mask that is filled with cold water or gel for a few minutes when you wake up in the morning.

Wrap pieces of ice in paper towels and place them on your eyelids for a few minutes. The cold will reduce the swelling.

Keep your eye creams in the refrigerator. The cool cream will help reduce your puffy eyes. When applying the cream, gently tap it onto your eyelid with your ring finger, so as to stimulate fluid drainage.

Soak cotton-wool pads in a bowl of ice-cold milk and then squeeze most of the liquid out. Place the pads on your eyes and repeat as they warm up for about 15 minutes. This will also brighten the white in your eye.

Dip cotton balls in ice water, and then squeeze the water out. Apply the cotton balls to your eyes for 5-10 minutes.

Place slices of cucumber, potatoes, or apple over the puffy eyelids for 10-15 minutes. Potatoes will reduce dark circles under the eyes and apples have pectin which aids in anti-oxidation.

Give your eyes a salt bath by soaking cotton pads in a saline solution or a solution of one teaspoon of salt in one pint of hot water. Place the pads on your puffy eyelids for a few minutes.

best under eye concealer for fair skin?

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

I have pretty bad under eye circles. They are blueish purpleish.
Whats the best concealer to get rid of them?

Omg, I had the same problem I have light skin and the best cheap concealers I’ve found to work great are Covergirls and Elf (eyeslipsface.com). They’re amazing! And if you’re looking for a pricey range I’d say MAC! :]
